Advertising.....

I was impressed with some of the print ads that are putup around Bangalore, thus this post, and also there has been no post that actually justifies the title of my blog... When it comes to the print media, u have only one shot to convey the message unlike a streaming video, and thats the biggest challenge.

This one was for the Ecomomics Time, an eagle scooping down to get its prey and the pray not a small river fish but a Shark, and the sub-title going If you think you can... wow so true...
and one more version is of a puppy amongst lion cubs sharing the platter... This how the advertising should be, having inspiring stuff.

The other one was on the "Skywalk"(wow what a name for an elevated pedestrian crossing) in richmond road, with Priyanka chopra's winking snap on the side and the captions saying Free incoming calls for 3 years, Hope by then we will not have these confusing one-ways.
(This was with reference to the St.Marks road being made a One-way in the opposite direction)

This would be the best example of an ideal ad, its content is related to the local issues along with that of the product being advertised, its more practical and close to reality...

Well how much of such inspiration and local content would actually turn into business is a different question, but ads have to be there to inform the existance of products.
As the ad about the ad itself says "Advertising, its your right to choose"

Women's Day

Salaam to the Lady,
To the lady, riding a 2 wheeler but still legs on ground,
To the lady, adjusting her make up in the backseat,
To the lady, crossing the road talking over the phone, lost in her own world.
To the lady, leading countries and organizations
To the lady, being harassed on the streets by some b******ds
To the lady, asking for protection from brothers on Raksha Bandhan
To the lady, winning hearts with her smile
To the lady, as a friend bringing a new meaning to life
And to the mother, Maa Tujhe salaam..

Its ridiculous to celebrate such a day, where in you dedicate a single day out of 365 days.
Anyways, since this day has been "dedicated" to the Women, this post is for the sake of it.

Just came across this link http://knownturf.blogspot.com/2006/03/streets-stories-strategies.html . Go through this post to know what a women goes through, and will be in such a position that she can't even tell, even to her near one's.

What’s wrong with me?

5 movies in 3 weeks, that too Kannada movies!!!!! Yep, you read it right; I saw 5 kannada movie in 3 weeks. 5 is still greater than the number of kannada movies I have seen in past 6 -7 years. What’s wrong with me? No, let me rephrase that question what’s good with Kannada movies these days?

I don’t know what tempted me to go to kannada movies. The first one in the series was 7’O clock. It has all new talents, about whom I had never heard of, but still went to watch the movie. And to my surprise, the story was about the youth, drifting away from the stereotype kannada movies, and it had the liveliness, never in the movie I got bored.

The last in the series was My Autograph, a remake of tamil film, but still the treatment of the story is good. Story that’s very realistic, a story that’s about people looking back at the steps they took traversing thru life till their present day. I liked the second half of the movie, which talks about his (the hero’s) friend, who helped him, shape his life. All in all a good movie.

It’s been a good year for the kannada film industry so far, like last year. The only sad part of watching a kannada movie is the condition of the theaters. Every time we got seats where there were no signs of any source of fresh air, it was so hot inside.

I myself am keen to know, which will be the next kannada movie I’ll drop in to watch and how soon will that be. ;)

Love me as I am....

I want to be loved,
I want to be protected;
I want someone to comfort me,
Ease my tensions during the day,
Share the happiness during night-
Someone just to hold me tight.

Wipe my tears when I’ am crying,
Share my pleasures when I’ am laughing
Someone who can see -
THE REAL in me.

Make me recall happy memories,
Make me forget all my worries,
Someone who keeps me loving -
As the days go by;

Love my wrinkles, my grey hair,
As the years passes by;
Not my face, nor my body
But the pilgrim soul in me-
Love me as I am,
THE REAL person in me;
